I love E Nomine, and Mondengel is one of my favorite songs by them (it's like in my top 5 by E Nomine, seriously). I can see how it inspired a work like this, listening to the song and looking over all the details of the image I can sort of see things that weren't there in my head when I was just looking at it with silence around me.
Nice job with the circle too, one side's a bit red and the other a little cyan just around the edges so if you look at the circle without realizing that color is there it just seems so odd. And how the colors are different above his head but the right side just kind of blurs into the left. This entire picture is a delight to look at, I feel like I should just put Mondengel on a loop in my iTunes and stare until my eyes start to hurt
the title actually came afterwards, the drawing was mostly based on the Icarus-sun couple, but with a cold sun and his wings not melting... then I went to Schwarze Sonne by E Nomine and then to Mondengel
Ah Gawd, that circle above his head! I thought something was up with it, but I couldn't identify it. Until I realized that it had the same effect as when the Driver's License printer I use at work misaligns. One side will have a little bit of red, one side will have a little bit of cyan, and the whole thing will be slightly 'off', and difficult to look at.
