When we die, we return to the earth where flowers grow.
We're no more less than a living thing as flowers, animals, microorganisms and all that can exist.
When I look at this piece, I see an incredible humility. It recalls me that humans are not superior to any kind of life, and when our bodies return to earth, Nature use our inanimate "soul-carapace" to produce life again and again, as She always did.

that expression and image is haunting, but in a good way. For some reason makes me think alot about confronting death and the unbending realization I will one day die. Either way, strong image and wonderfully drawn.

That reminds me a scene from the movie "The Fountain" with Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz.

Great work and nice details.

How strong that works when you add "depth of field" to a drawing!

Yes, that's quite literally flowers growing from your body there. Well observed. I wouldn't have noticed.
An honest question to the artist though: Is the position of the ribs intentionally that low? (Since you do quite brutal proportions at times)

It reminds me of Edvard Munch quote "From my rotting body, flowers shall grow and I am in them and that is eternity". Great concepts indeed ;-)

I just read your comment and... froze. I remember having a dream, very surreal one, and the only thing I remembered when waking up, was a quote - very very similar to this one (but in Polish). I didn't know Edward Munch wrote this, so thank you for sharing it and sorry for random comment from random person ;)
